Starting With SeedsStarting your marijuana grow op with seeds is no picnic. Not only do you have a 50-50% chance of having either a male or a female but many seeds can be lost while just germinating them. However, attempting to grow from seeds is possible and can also be very rewarding. The process is simple but it is does not guarantee the bes results. The point of the germination process is to imitate the process in which a seed is placed underneath the soil (planted) then watered and given a chance to grow. Instead of doing this the old fashioned way you will be doing this within your home with a couple of different methods to choose from.
First you will need to have your seeds ready, placing them onto a folded paper towel distilled or mineral water over them so that the paper towel becomes lightly damp. The first option (and it can be successful) is to place the folded and damp paper towel inside a small plastic zip lock bag and place it somewhere dark and warm, such as underneath a computer, laptop, or DVD player. The other option is to place the folded and damp paper towel on a plate and another plate over it so that it creates a space in between that is dark and can maintain a decently warm temperature. During this process be sure to check on your seeds every day to see their progress and to damp the paper towel lightly as necessary. If the seeds are successful with germinating than the first signs you will notice is that the shell is beginning to crack. At this point the root is attempting to grow leaving the shell. Be sure to keep the seeds in the moist paper towel until the root has grown to an appropriate size. Over the next few days you will also begin to notice that the root growing out of the seeds is white and that soon it will no longer need to the shell. This is when the seed is ready to be planted. Make sure that the intended pots for planting are prepared and already have soil in them so that the germinated seeds can go from point A to point B. Place the roots without the shells once they have become about two inches in length in the soil after you have dug a few inches from the surface. Bury the seed lightly placing soil on top of it and some water ensuring that it has reached the root, place the light directly above the pot and simply wait for the plant to sprout. The first signs you will notice is that a green plant is emerging from the soil with either two to four little leaves on each side. Once this has happened it will mean that you have successfully germinated and planted your seeds. |
