Watering and Feeding
Growers who are growing multiple plants will notice that each one will need to be watered at different times. This usually happens because each plant is different and each one soaks up nutrients and water at different rates. Most growers ignore this though and proceed water and feeding the plants all at the same time because it is more convenient for them. This may not be too big of a deal but if not careful this can easily cause a plant to get what is called ‘nutrient burn.’ Nutrient burn happens when a plant has been overfed nutrients within a short period of time. The plant cannot process that amount of nutrients that it has been fed and will slowly begin to die from the stress.
Another possibility is that the plant could in a sense ‘drown’ from having too much water at one time. A plant drowning is fairly rare but if not careful it can be a possibility. Be sure that when watering and feeding nutrients to the plants that the directions labeled are properly followed and that the water that builds up in the trays is emptied out. Keep in mind as well that is also recommended to water plants with water that is at room temperature instead of cold or too hot. Water that is any other temperature than room temperature can potentially ‘shock’ your plants and have a negative effect on their growth.
There are dozens of different nutrients to feed the plants during both the vegetation stage and the flowering stage. As growing plants of any kind indoors becomes more popular, so do the nutrients available for them. The proper nutrients can be found either online or at your nearest garden specialty store. If unsure of which ones to purchase than ask for assistance. However, finding the appropriate nutrients for the vegetation stage is actually pretty simple.
